Last weekend I had the amazing fortune to meet a fantastic woman named Susan and her beautiful, beautiful dog, Shelby. I was at their home for just a few hours but even from that, I learned {and felt} that their bond together was absolutely incredible.

I thought one of the cutest stories that Susan told me about Shelby was how they came to be together … Susan knew she wanted to name her future puppy Shelby so just for kicks she decided to call out that name to the litter of puppies in front of her. Well, Shelby headed in her direction. She gave it another try just to be sure it wasn’t a coincidence and Shelby again went immediately for Susan. Shelby nuzzled her nose in Susan’s collar and years later they are the bestest of friends.

Their home is beautiful both inside and out and we had an amazing time playing in the grass and roaming through the fields nearby letting Shelby do her thing and ham it up for the camera 🙂

Susan, I really appreciate your time and effort so far and can tell that hands down, Shelby means the world to you!! You are the perfect doggie mama and she is so lucky to have you! 🙂 Tell her “hi!” and can’t wait to do more photos this fall! I’ll make sure to have the angel wings to tow 🙂
