As mentioned, last weekend I was in Iowa for the New Year. It was fantastic to see so much family and enjoy good food but as expected, incredibly hard. One thing that was nice was that the temp on December 31st reached an unbelievable record high of 53. Ah-mazing! Because of that, I closed out the year with a nap in my favorite orchard, enjoying a delicious beer and then snapping some photos of my dad’s favorite pup …
Roux was a good sport considering all of her pup treats were in the house and I only had old corn stalks and a downed fruit tree branch to entice and reward her.

Goodness sakes it’s almost 2012. I can’t believe that! My life still honestly feels like it’s in August and the fact that MN has no snow yet is only encouraging that notion. The last 5 weeks have been organized chaos at work but I’m thrilled to be through it. This evening I am attempting to get packed up for my highly anticipated New Years weekend in Iowa and I’m doing so in a serious ADD manner. I’m doing a bit of laundry, a bit of wine drinking, a bit of packing, a bit of sewing, a bit of dishes, a bit of email reading, a bit of gift wrapping and now? A bit of blogging. I have been thinking about these photos all.week.long and I just can’t wait any longer to post them. It’s just a tease for now with many more to come later!!! 🙂
You may remember Edward the Pug from his birthday party and his winter session last year. Well, here is his 2011-day-after-Christmas-session in which he romped around in the tall grasses in place of snow… I still can’t believe it.

I am pretty excited to get a few days to myself to be able to edit and whip up some posts because I have some pretty neat-o things to share with everyone 🙂 Stay tuned!! But for now, have a lovely, safe weekend. I will be spending it in Iowa with some FANTASTIC people and I hope to come home with oodles more photos of kiddos and kitties.

I have spent most of the night surfing the internet for both fun and work. As I’ve been sitting here I have had to reshuffle my arms and the laptop’s position on my lap to accommodate my girls. Both of them. Together. On my lap. And preferably in a spot so they can each have a paw or two under my computer because it gets so hot and keeps their toesys warm. Because of that, I couldn’t resist sharing a few photos of my little ones.
bah. they are so cute! and generally, they are pretty good girls. I thought that earlier when they were playing with their toys in the dining room. They seem to really enjoy when my sweatshirts or coats are hanging on a chair because it’s like a little kitty curtain. They hide behind it and dart after their toys with more energy than usual simply because this grey hoodie allows them to sneak up on their plastic mouse enemy.
They exude such happiness. I hope it becomes infectious!!

She was born on November 9th and is the newest apple in the entire Perdue clan’s eyes. I had the fortune to meet her over Thanksgiving weekend and I had a pretty hard time putting her down and giving her back to her parents 🙂 She is such an amazing little babe!! On Saturday we did a shoot to get some newborn photos of her before she gets too big …
Bah – she is ah-mazing! I feel like she is just as much my niece now as she would have been on September 15th of next year and I can’t stop thinking about how incredibly lucky I am to get to see her grow into a beautiful little person!! I’ve had my fingers crossed for a little girl for a while now so let this be an official declaration that there will be more little girl photos on here in the future. I have tutus, balloons, bubbles, headbands and a coffee bean necklace ready to rock. Auntie Jess can’t wait to play 🙂
