lucy liu the shar pei :: minneapolis pet photographer
Oh boy! I’ve had a busy, busy week and overall it’s been a pretty good one. I have played with 6 different amazing dogs and am now sorting through all the images, I signed up for Pinterest which is addicting yet really helpful, I made one of the cutest little baby gifts ever, and I actually did my laundry! What a week!
…the first of the 6 pups I played with was this gem, Lucy. She is a beautiful wrinkly shar pei and is the apple of per mom’s eye 🙂
These two were so much fun to spend time with! She knows some tricks including ‘high-five’ which is definitely my favorite. It’s on my to-do list to teach the girls. I instantly fell in love with all her wrinkles and had a hard time leaving because she is just so cute!!!
… oh boy. I have been gathering ideas for which sort of dog I want when I am able to finally get my own and Lucy has really made me think strongly about a shar pei. I would play with her face all day long!!
Can’t wait to share the rest of the pups soon!! Happy Saturday!
ball crazy …
Oh.my.goodness.
This dog is the definition of ball crazy. Seriously!!
… these shots were captured by mom holding a tennis ball like she was going to throw it.
Treats? Nah – he was not interested. It was amazing. This ball was his treat …
He was so much fun to work with!!! Mel was one of the winners from the Twin Cities Smile for A Cure competition that was held earlier this summer and she also has her own business, Mel’s Pet Pals. She is pretty amazing!! She loves her pups so incredibly much and the whole time we were together she just wanted to have fun. My kind of lady!! Jasper was a smidge easier to work with than Daisy but I was definitely up for the challenge! We found this great little park to wander around at and Daisy even went for a swim!! It was a great evening with beautiful light and I’m so excited to have met that lovely family!! Thanks again for your time and patience, Mel!! You are fantastic!! 🙂
amazing and leafy
I love this tree. I’ve loved it for a while. When I first went to ‘my Iowa vacation home,’ Mur showed off the land by way of a 4Wheeler trip. As we went past this tree he told me he had always loved it and that he thought if he ever had a job in Hollywood he would love to be the ‘tree finder’ for movies. He said this one always reminded him of the tree from Shawshank Redemption, one of his favorite movies. After he proposed he asked me if I knew it was coming. I said I had a feeling {which was a bit of an understatement} but that I expected it to happen under his favorite tree. He laughed a bit and hugged me tight. He said something along the lines of “wow you do know me well. I was planning that but they haven’t mowed the path recently and I didn’t want to make us walk all the way out there.”
Clearly, it’s a pretty amazing spot.
Dad and I hiked out there one evening at sunset when we were there in September and got some beautiful photos. It was great to go on a photo adventure with him and to take photos of this tree at the perfect time of night. I had envisioned having some photos taken under the tree at our wedding and Mur was really excited about that. Well, as excited as he got for photos of us 🙂
more astro! :: minneapolis pet photographer
This dog is so cute that I just can’t leave the blog with only one photo of him – and from August!! Astro’s family was one that got caught up in my absolute chaotic life of the last nearly 2 months so he did not get the attention he deserved. So, without further adieu, here are some warm and sunny images of my favorite Boston, Astro.
What a spunky, tongue waging pup!!! 🙂
